The experiment consisted of two measurements techniques: a) Aerosol concentration measurements with the active sampler: aerosol spectrometer Grimm 1.109. Measurements performed at each bay, at diferent positions (heights). Also, outside measurements; and b) Pasive aerosol sampling on FD mirrors, by using microscope slide glasses as sustrate for particle deposition. Two different sizes were used, square glasses (24mm side) and rectangular glasses (24mm x 50mm), both with 0.13-0.17mm thickness. These samples were able to be analyzed by SEM, gravimetry, and ellipsometry. The measurements were performed at Los Leones FD building.Aerosol concentration measurements with Grim 1.109, shows some differences between different positions of the FD mirror. Presenting larger concentrations on the top of the mirror. Middle and bottom position shows smaller concentration values. The top position presents higher amount of smaller particles in comparison with the bottom position. Aerosol concentrations PM1 represents 99% of total concentration. Passive sampling shows collected material visible by SEM. Most of the particles are in the 0.5-1µm size interval. A difference in transmittance was detected in the exposed samples. Further analysis with samples exposed longer periods will help to improve the understanding of dust deposition in FD mirrors.
