The objective of this work is to evaluate the different diagenetic events, mainly dolomitic, that occurred in the sediments of the Cretaceous (Chorreado Member, Huitrin Formation) in the central sector of the Neuquen Basin, Argentina. They are formed at its base by dolopackestone, dolowackestone and boundstone facies, included within the depositional context of a carbonate ramp, which was installed during a high frequency marine transgression, while its predominantly evaporite upper part is related to a previous desiccation event at the beginning of the last stage of the basin evolution.ln this sector of the basin, the sediments lies transitionally on calcareous-pelitic-sandy intercalations, carriers of reworked bioclasts with abundant HSC interpreted as distal stormy episodes.
