In this work, we explore the first two encounters ofParker Solar Probe (PSP). In the first encounter, we analyse the period whenPSP was connected to a small coronal hole. SDO/AIA data is analysed todetermine where activity is coming from that could lead to input to the fastsolar wind measured by PSP. In the second encounter, we study the early period,when there were frequent type III bursts, and a small non-flaring active regionwas on the solar disk. We analyse the low level activity in the active regionusing Hinode/EIS and SDO/AIA data to determine the source of the type IIIbursts. This work is part of an ISSI team entitled ?Exploring the solar wind inregions closer than even observed before?.
