Resumen:
Magnetic clouds (MCs) are the interplanetary counterpart of coronal mass ejections (CMEs). They transport the magnetic flux and helicity released by CMEs into the interplanetary medium. At 1 AU from the Sun, the magnetic structure of a MC is generally modelled as a static flux rope, i.e., considering it as a rigid body travelling in the solar wind. However, in some cases, a cloud can be also modelled as an expanding magnetic structure if its velocity profile presents clear signatures of expansion when observed by a spacecraft. We present here a diferent models to describe the magnetohydrodynamic evolution of interplanetary coronal mass ejections and magnetic clouds in the interplanetary medium.
