Prolificacy and tillering in maize (Zea mays L.) are important sources of vegetative-reproductive plasticity, particularly in restrictive environments; however, the analysis of their plasticity patterns remains unexplored. We evaluated the phenotypic expression of 25 traits linked to vegetative-reproductive plasticity, and associations among them on a set of inbred lines and their derived hybrids. A field experiment was conducted during 2022-23 growing season at FAUBA, following a complete diallel mating design composed by six inbred lines of INTA Pergamino and their 15 derived single-cross hybrids (reciprocals excluded).
