Argentina developed a policy “propelled by impulses”, spasmodic-like, with a low profile, according to the low position of these countries in its foreign priorities. On the other hand Brazil shows cumulative impulses allowing the design of an African policy. In the nineties, the political models in the two Latin American countries and strong economic limitations on both sides of the Atlantic pushed down the relations with Africa,  but links with the new South Africa were improved. At that time it was possible to think of the implementation of similar policies towards Pretoria, but again their respective traditional pattern of relations were put into motion. The recently governmental changes in Brazil and Argentina and the growing sinergy between their presidents allow to think in future cooperative actions, including, this time African partners.
