Resumen:
La Marciana silica sinter was deposiled from a Jurassic epithermal system. It has been found associated with hydrothermally altcrcd volcanic rocks of the Bahía Laura Group in thc Deseado Massif. The deposit has many featurcs in common with modern and fossil examples. Sintcrs provide an unequivocal evidence of an cpithermal system and thcrc is a close relationship betwecn them and precious metal mineralization. La Josetina and Manantial Espejo projects are the best examples in the Deseado Massif. La Marciana sinter is related to the extensive J urassic epithermal system responsible of metalliferous deposits as Cerro Vanguardia Mine and this is in good agreement with the idea that a deeper mineralization is possible.
