This paper deals with the main biogeographical, epidemiological, and evolutionary-ecological aspects of human populations inhabiting the Isla Grande de Tierra del Fuego island (Southern Patagonia). Previous research on the biological anthropology of these Fueguian populations is introduced, and a first agenda is posed of further research to be carried out within a collaboration project recently jointly initiated by the Instituto Canario de Bioantropología (OAMC), Spain, and the Departamento de Arqueología (Sede Quequén) of the Universidad Nacional del Centro de la Provincia de Buenos Aires, Argentina. The main objective of this binational project is to join efforts in assessing the insertion and extinction of native human populations of these islands.
