Resumen:
We seek to find a suitable catalyst for aqueous phase reforming of biomass derived (CHO) to obtain hydrogen. We prepared three metal supported catalysts: a reference one with 1% of Pt; a bimetallic one with 1% of Pt and 3% of Ni and a trimetallic one with 0,5% of Pt, 1,5% of Ni and 4,5% of Co. The support was γ-Al2O3 Sasol. The catalysts obtained were designated: Pt(1)-IWI; Pt(1)Ni(3)-Mix and Pt(0,5)Ni(1,5)Co(4,5) -Mix. The metallic phase was characterized by ICP and CO chemisorption. The dehydrogenation capacity was measured with DHC. We performed APR experiments with three alcohols, ethylenglicol, glycerol and sorbitol with 0,5 g catalyst reduced in situ in H2 1 h at 500 ° C. We studied the catalyst deactivation by coke deposition with temperature programmed oxidation test (TPO). The Pt(1)Ni(3)-Mix catalyst shows excellent yield and selectivity to H2. The catalyst Pt(0,5)Ni(1,5)Co(4,5)-Mix with 0,5 wt% Pt, shows a suitable yield and selectivity to H2. Cobalt helps to maintain low levels of coke and methane, and is a good additive to compensate the high activity to undesirable reactions of Nickel and promotes stability.
