Produçao de etilbenzeno sobre catalizadores do tipo Pt/KY

The production of etylbenzene was investigated for the octane reforming reaction using Pt catalysts supported over KY zeolites. The Si/Al ratio was 9, 17 and 25. Pt supported in KL zeolite was also used for comparison. The concentration  of platinumm (1%) and potassium (10-12%) was closer to predicted in all samples. The Y zeolite catalyst showed starting conversion closer to 100%. The sample with Si/Al 9 ratio showed great decrease in the conversion and larger amount of coke, followed by sample with Si/Al 17 and 25 ratio. The increase in the Si/Al ratio improve the catalytical activity, selectivity and stability. The Si/Al 25 ratio is the most promising sample. Its activity was higer in comparison with KL zeolite.
