Resumen:
A balanced (0.3% Pt, 0.3% Re) and a skewed (0.2% Pt, 0.4% Re) metal function catalyst coked commercially in a naphtha reformer are compared. The coke was characterized by temperature-programmed oxidation and by measuring the amount of carbon and the hydrogen-carbon atomic ratio. Catalytic tests were performed in order to study the influence of coke deposition on the catalytic activity of reactions controlled by the metal or acid function of the catalyst. Both catalysts behave similarly regarding the function controlling the reactions. The main difference is the smaller coke deposition on the metal of the skewed-metal catalyst.
