Resumen:
Among several forms of religious discourse, prayer is the dominant one in hagiographic narrative, and prophecy in chivalric narrative. Nevertheless, Amadís de Gaula offers a particular kind of praying discourse in which the invoked person is not a divine or holy one, but the beloved lady seen as almighty and merciful. This study is devoted to analyse these prayers in the first and best Castilian libro de caballerías.
