Resumen:
In this article, I analyse the institutional construction and organisation of the Cooperative Program or “Agreement” between the University of Chile and the University of California from 1965 to 1978 which mobilised more than 300 scholars to accomplish research visits or postgraduate studies. In this scenario, “The Agreement” emerged as an institutional project of academic and scientific development and gradually constituted a framework of academic insertion for the agents who, in this like in other exchange programs, accumulated scientific resources in the international field. From a historical perspective, I intend to show that this institutional agreement can be understood within the social and political context of Chile between the 1950s and 1970s.
