Resumen:
In this chapter, we present a new revision of coralsnakes (Micrurus) that inhabit Argentina, Paraguay, and Uruguay, based on morphological and coloration characters of more than 500 specimens and the literature, addressing the following questions: (1) How many species inhabit this region? (2) What are their distributions? (3) What are the taxonomic consequences of intra- and interspecific geographic variation of coralsnakes in this region? We focus on M. baliocoryphus (Cope, 1862) and M. pyrrhocryptus (Cope, 1862), both with type localities in Argentina (4) Finally, what diagnostic characters distinguish these species?. Additionally we reported a new record of coralsnakes species in Argentina
