Resumen:
Improving Single Frequency Positioning Using SIRGAS Ionospheric Products with Bernese SoftwareA preliminary study of single frequency differential positioning was presented in the last SIRGAS Conference (Montevideo, 2008). This work showed how ionospheric corrections could improve single frequency differential positioning when data were processed with commercial software. This study has now been extended to include different South American regions at different time periods.  On this occasion, scientific software was used in order to distinguish the different biases which affect the coordinate errors in a better way.                             The role of satellite and receivers biases in the Total Electron Content estimation was investigated and an alternative method to mitigate this source of error was studied.Test bed results show that improvements of around 50% can be achieved by using external ionospheric information. This is a promising result for a region where most of the surveyors only count on single frequency receivers and where GNSS Continuous Operating Reference Stations are distributed in a sparse way.
