Resumen:
Oleic acid functionalized magnetite MNPs were synthesized and coated with beta-cyclodextrin as potential carriers for drug targeting by the application of an external magnetic field. They were characterized to ensure that their physic-chemical properties are suitable for biomedical applications. Toxicity studies were carried out using the nematode Caenorhabditis elegans (C. elegans) as a model, considering that despite the distance between both phylogenetic trees, there is a high degree of conservation among species, especially in essential physiological processes.
