Resumen:
Nowadays, nanotechnologies are opening up new perspectives in almost all scientific and technological fields, including engineering, medicine, physics and chemical sciences. The terms nanoscience and nanotechnology refer to developments associated with the synthesis, manipulation, assembly and use of nano-sized structures. Particularly, the interest in nanomaterials is due to their unique physicochemical properties which differ significantly from those of the bulk material. From this point of view, nanoparticles are considered a valuable tool in analytical chemistry for simplification and miniaturization of methodologies involved in the analysis of complex matrices, such as environmental and food samples. In this presentation, the state-of-the-art in using nanoparticles, such as carbon-based, noble metals and metal oxides, implemented as selective tool in separation techniques and sorbent material for solid phase extraction procedures is reviewed and discussed.
