The chapter discusses the latest advances in water treatment technologies using zero valent iron in nanoscale dimension (nZVI) aimed at the remediation of real industrial effluents. The physicochemical processes and mechanisms involved in the removal of pollutants by nZVI-based technologies are discussed in depth. Case studies using real industrial effluents at different scales (laboratory, pilot and industrial) are described in detail. Finally, the challenges facing the large-scale application of nZVI are discussed.
