Resumen:
Worldwide, one of the main economic losses in garlic (Allium sativum L.)production is due to blue mold disease, casused by Penicillium allii. Partial resistance to P. allii was reported in Argentine garlics, as evaluated in inoculated actively growing plants. In this study we evaluated P. allii infections in dormant cloves of 11 Argentine garlic cultivars, monitoring the fungal growth in terms od colony area and spore production. Significant variation was found for both evaluated parameters. The most tolerant cultivars were Morado INTA, Perla INTA and Castaño INTA, whereas Fuego INTA and Gran Fuego were the most susceptibles.
