Resumen:
Fiber orientation distributions are evaluated via statistical analysis and the goodness of predictions quantified via the error analysis. It was demonstrated that for both models the value of the component along the main flow direction a11 depends only on the fiber-fiber interaction coefficient Ci and the predicted degree of alignment increase with the decrease in Ci. When the iARD model is used the matrix-fiber interaction coefficient Cm shows up to have the greatest influence on the value of the principal out of plane component a33. The predicted amount of fibers oriented in the through-thickness direction increases when Cm decreases. The IBOF closure approximation captures better the experimental behavior. It was found that the iARD model was the most accurate to predict the fiber orientation state, since its predictive error resulted ten times lower that the one from the FR model.
