Resumen:
Fractionation of nothofagus dombeyi (coihue) leaf-litter gave: aqueous extract (25¨¬): 20.2%; aqueous extract (100¨¬); 50.8%; ehtanol-benzene extract: 6.2%; lignin: 24.6%; pectic substances: 16.8%; holocellulose: 36.6%, consisting of hemicellulose (22.1%) and ¥á - cellulose (12.7%). Free sugars account for 4% of the aqueous extract (25¨¬) and were characterized as: glucose (57.1%); arabinose (15.4%); mannose (15.1%) rhamnose (5.4%) galactose (2.7%) xylose (2.3%) and inositol (1.6%).
