Resumen:
Cyttariaceae (Discomycetes) is a family of fungi confined to the Southenrn Hemisphere, where the different species grow as obligate parasites of Nothofagus on wich they produce characteristic tumors that infect the trees and finally cause their death. In previous papers, we have reported the isolation, and structural Studies of three polysaccharides and a glycopeptide from Cyttaria harioti Fischer, and a ¦Â-fructiglucan from citar¨ªa johowii wich exhibits antitumor activity. We report herein the first Chemicals Studies on Cyttaria darwinii which led to the isolation of a water-soluble ¡Þ-glucan characterized as pullulan.
