Resumen:
Ascarylose has been identified as a constituent of the eggs of a tapeworm and of a lipopolysaccharide from pasteurella pseudotuberculosis, but the anomeric configuration and ring structure were not established. The syntesis of derivatives of dideoxy sugar should be useful for the identification of the sugar in natural products and for the synthesis of artificial antigens.
