Resumen:
Fusarium head blight (FHB) caused by Fusarium graminearumis one of the most destructive diseases of wheat worldwide, producing considerable yield and quality losses and micotoxin acumulation in grain. Environmental temperature and humidity during flowering affect the onset of infection. Resistance to FHB exhibits quantitative variation and its inheritance involves many loci on different chromosomes. Development of resistant cultivars has been difficult because of the complex inheritance of resistance and confounding environmental effects. The LDN(Dic-3A)10 recombinant inbred chromosome lines (Langdon durum wheat background substituted by a T. dicoccoides chromosome 3A fragment) showed to be resistant to FBH. We postulate that the responsible genes could be induced by the presence of the pathogen. This work was aimed to identify expressed genes involved in FHB resistance of wheat, in particular to identify genes/alleles associated with the resistance QTL Qfhs.ndsu-3AS, by the means of the cDNA-AFLPs technique.
