Resumen:
The mafic-ultramafíc belt of the Sierras de San Luis is known for its associated base metal sulphide mine-ralisation (BMS), which also bear platinum group mi-nerals (PGM). These rocks occur as lenses included in the metamor-phic basement of the Sierras Orientales of San Luis. Regional systematic and detailed gravimetric, magne-tometric and escintillometric surveys were carried out in order to elucídate the shape, size and position of the mafic-ultramafic rocks, the magnitude of the associated base metal sulphide mineralization and the spatial relationship between both entities. These results are the first of this type for the Las Águilas - Virorco - El Fierro área.
