Resumen:
In the Central Andes, supracrustal tectonic loading has been extensively used for explaining retroarc flexure and foreland basin subsidence. Very few works have considered sublithospheric controls. In this work, we present surface and subsurface stratigraphy (thickness and distribution) in the Sierras Pampeanas broken foreland (Argentina) suggesting a long-wavelength subsidence pattern, likely driven by processes occurring in upper mantle or lower crust, which overlapped to short-wavelength, local deformation.
