Argentina. norma@qo.fcen.uba.ar Soya is a primary source of edible proteins and an important component of nutritionally balanced meals. Fungal infections, which could occur even during cultivation o post-harved, represent an important damage for the economy of many countries. Serious limitations of the existing drugs, as well as resistance against them have led to an emergent need to develop new chemical entities as antifungal agents. Looking for new fungicides, we report the synthesis of 1,4-dihydro-5-(4-halophenyl)-4-substituted 1,2,4-triazoline-3-thiol/thiones. The synthetic pathway, exemplified with glucose is shown in the scheme1-3.
