A simplified kinetic model of n-butane oxidation over VPO and La-VPO catalysts

Considerable progress has been made in understanding the  physical chemistry  features of the  VPO system. However, few studies have  been published about the kinetic of  butane (B) oxidation to maleic anhydride (MA) on VPO equilibrated catalysts under steady-state reaction conditions Hutchings and Higgins compared  the performance of promoted VPO catalysts on the basis of a simplified kinetic model for n-butane oxidation involving a series-parallel reaction scheme of pseudo first–order reactions. In this paper, we have applied this simple kinetic analysis to lanthanum promoted VPO solids.
