Resumen:
Despite the intimate contact we have with dermatophytes, little is known about how our immune system protects us from these pathogens and how pathogenic fungi drive skin immune homeostasis. Most studies that analyse antifungal immunity used generic populations of myeloid cells to better understand the mechanisms of fungal growth control.However, it is clear that our immune system exhibits organ-specific restrictions. This study directly explores the skin-specific antifungal immunity in vivo and monitors the dynamics of cutaneous T cell populations necessary for protection and homeostasis
