Oxidative stress in plants: responses to environmental physiological stimuli

NiItric oxide(NO) is a biocative molecule, propossed as a broad anti stress molecule. Here we show evidences of the rol of Nitric oxide as antioxidants. NO reduces paraquat and UV-B oxidative stress by several ways: modifyng antioxidant enzymes, regulating phenylpropanoids metabolism, scavenging ROS and absorbing UV-B radiation. Finally, we discuss a integrative model for NO  response against oxidative stress.
