Resumen:
The record of Eocene decapod faunas in the high southern latitudes of South America is sparse despite the presence of a rich and diverse Eocene fauna in the Antarctic Peninsula (Feldmann and Woodburne, 1988, for example). Paleogeographic reconstructions of South America during this time (Scotese, 2006) suggest that the continent was relatively high and that the extent of marine conditions in the Eocene were limited. Exposures of marine Eocene
