Epidemics in the marriage problem

We study the propagation of a sexually transmitted infection in a social group where marriages and divorces occur following dynamical rules that depend on individual preferences. Such preferences are introduced by means of ranking lists that take into account both the intrinsic appeal of the agents and random personal affinities. We investigate how these two opposite tendencies affect the joint dynamics of marriages and infections.
