Resumen:
In this work we have analysed the influence on letter contrast sensitivity of different spectral light distributions lighting the target and its surround, distributions always obtained from halogen incandescent lamps. A clinical study was performed on 21 young and healthy individuals (25 eyes) whose monocular contrast sensitivities were measured with natural pupil. Sixteen combinations of test and surround luminance with high or low colour temperature were considered in such a way that the influence of test luminance, surround luminance or colour temperature of both visual fields could be independently studied. Results revealed that the colour temperature of these lamps have not a statistically significant influence on letter contrast sensitivity.
