Resumen:
The Raman and IR spectra of the C-Cl stretching mode in the axial and the equatorial positions of cyclohexyl chloride and 4- chloro-oxacyclohexane have been measured at room temperature. The band broadening mechanism and the differences in vibrational dephasing rate of the axial and the equatorial conformers are discussed. It is demonstrated that simultaneous study of vibrational dephasing of different conformers provides a method to isolate individual relaxation channels.
