Resumen:
Future and present uses of lignin are based on their dispersing, adhesive and other active surface properties. This is an important field of international interest, as is shown by the growing number of research works and patents reported in the last years. The pioneer studies on lignin gafting date to the sixties. The process has been shown from then as the result of free radicals reaction involving the OH groups present in lignin. Works in this field began with two well‑differentiated objectives. The principal one is to increase this by‑product utilization. In second place comes the attempt to use the lignin that is still present in pulps with the purpose of improving their properties by increasing their bonding capacity.
