Resumen:
The indument of Phaseolus vulgaris L. var.aborigineus (Burkart) Baudet, a native bean fromArgentina, potential source for improvement ofcultivated varieties, was compared betweendifferent genetic lines. Seeds collected from wild,weedy forms and presumptive hybrid individualsin two distant latitudes were sown in two sitesof Buenos Aires University Campus (field andgreenhouse). Two type of trichomes were found,which differenciate in length and shape. Thepubescence density was significantly differentbetween wild specimens from different latitudesand between culture sites for plants of a sameprocedence. This character could be involved inphysical defences of these plants.
