Resumen:
  The aim of this work, is the study of the reaction of glycerol steam reforming and its product distribution, using a catalyst obtained from a layered double hydroxides (LDH) of Ni(II)-Mg(II)-Al(III). Experiments have been carried out at atmospheric pressure, contact times of 0.78-9.29 gcat h/molglycerol and temperature between 400-700ºC. Glycerol conversion to gaseous products was around 70% at the lower operating temperature (400ºC) and it was near 100% at the higher operating temperature (700ºC). At the same time, at high contact time and 600ºC hydrogen yield was about 94.7% of the stoichiometric one. Product distribution was analyzed and the reaction scheme was verified, according to which glycerol steam reforming takes place via: glycerol decomposition, water gas shift (WGS) and methane steam reforming reactions.
