Resumen:
Functional materials can be immobilized into calcium alginate beads for water treatments. One of the alternatives consists in the encapsulation of LayeredDouble Hydroxide (LDH) in beads of hydrogel of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and sodium alginate (AS) for the removal of contaminants in water, among other applications2. In this study, LDH-PVA/AS beads were synthesized through immobilization of Mg-Al LDH into AS beads blending with PVA and characterized by thermal analysis and swelling.
