Resumen:
The Argentinian genus Pachyloidellus Müller, formerly regarded as junior synonym of Acanthopachylus Roewer, is hereby revalidated and revised. Sphaleropachylus Mello-Leitao is determined to be its junior synonym, from which two new combinations result: Pachyloidellus butleri (Thorell) (=Pachyloidellus fuscus Müller =Pachylus gouldii Weyenbergh =Petrocchia lesserti Mello-Leitao) and Pachyloidellus fulvigranulatus (Mello-Leitao). The taxonomic identity of the latter is clarified and the species is redescribed. Pachyloidellus crassus Roewer is transfered to Pachylus Koch. Finally, a new species is described: Pachyloidellus goliath, resulting in three valid species in the genus. Pachyloidellus occurs in the hills of Córdoba-San Luis in central Argentina, P. fulvigranulatus and P. goliath being probably endemic to the higher altitudinal belt each of two mountain chains. Distribution and bioecological data are added.
