Resumen:
This communication attempts to show how a traditional Latin American culture, interacting with science and technology, is able to manage natural resources according to production and food security to address the problems of subsistence. The objective of this work is to promote a cultural intervention which, together with scientific and technological advances, cooperates in rescuing a traditional way of life linked to food production in indigenous communities in desertification-prone drylands, so that both persons and communities can find their own way to sustainable development. An integral development is necessary for communities at risk to be able to support themselves with dignity, in health and prosperity.
