Resumen:
Abstracts: The different sectors involved in the quest to stop or reverse the processes of land degradation have achieved a consensus on the critical points. International agencies, national governments, non governmental organizations, the scientific community and local associations have established a common set of guiding tools for the actions that need to be taken in response to land degradation. Since the 1970’s the debate on how to approach the responses to the severe problems of environment deterioration has remained open. The following is a list of some of the deserts’ problems and needs that are mentioned in most of the consensus reached.
