We show that the formation of a counter-rotating stellar component in a simulated galaxy can take place naturally in the Lambda cold dark matter (LCDM) hierarchical scenario. We present an analysis of the formation of a simulated disk galaxy that has in its central region a stellar bar counter-rotating with respect to the disk.
