We compare the performance and reliability of PSFEx and daophot ii inthe construction and modeling of the Point Spread Function (PSF) on realimages. Both methods were applied over photometric catalogs of globularcluster candidates in the elliptical galaxy NGC1395, generated withSExtractor on Gemini/GMOS images in the filters g', r' and i'. We use the PSFphotometry obtained from both softwares to compare magnitudes,colour-colour and colour-magnitude diagrams. We also analyzed the newparameter spreadmodel used by SExtractor+PSFEx, which allows to separatepoint sources from extended objects.
