Resumen:
Fe, Co, and Fe/CO catalysts were formed from their cationic solutions and impregnated on mesoporous silica support (SBA-15) obtaining a good dispersion of nanoparticles. N2 adsorption-desorption isotherms at 77 K allow the study of both texture and structure, showing that the mesoporous structure remained after the metal impregnation, furthermore, the textural properties of the support were slightly modified, however, the materials obtained also have a high specific surface area and narrow pore size. SEM micrographs did not show the presence of metal deposits at the surface of the support, nevertheless, the elemental mapping show the presence of each metal. Both XPS and TPR identified hematite and cobalt oxide as the main components in catalysts. Finally, these materials were tested in the Fischer-Tropsh Synthesis reaction showing that bimetallic catalyst presents the highest activity, being two times higher than Co catalyst and ten times higher than Fe catalyst, and formation of hydrocarbon chains larger than decane.
