Resumen:
Simultaneous adsorption isotherms and calorimetric measurements have been indicated as a convenient method for the characterization of activated carbons. For this purpose, in the present work, a Tian-Calvet microcalorimeter was developed and connected to a gas volumetric unit, built in stainless steel, to record adsorption isotherms. Moreover, the usual methodology employed for the calibration of the whole system, as well as the equations required for analyzing the calorimetric and adsorption results are shown.
