In this work composite polymeric membrane lab- made  and commercial membrane (MPF-50 provide by Koch were used to trat a crude sunflower oil-hexane mixture with dead end filtration celll. The prepared composite membrane were made from PVDF as asymmetric support layer and silicone or cellulose acetate as coating layer. The results showed interesting stability and oil retention coefficient for silicone-PVDF membrane compared to the commercial one. The results were interpreted using pore flow models.
