Resumen:
Every day, new technologies are developed to com-bine the facilities arranged for shared memory systems withthe facilities that provide distributed memory systems. Thispaper proposes an evaluation of different partition approachesover an hybrid system that enables communication betweenthreads running in a shared memory environment and a clusterof computers. We use speci c directives provided by MPI tosolve a problem of similarity search on metric spaces. While theproposal of this work may be generalized and used for otherproblems, the results show that the proposed hybrid algorithmallows a signi cant improvement.
