Resumen:
Polymeric materials are ideal for use in the synthesis of membrane ultrafiltration (UF) for the treatment of emulsions, but one limitation is the high particle deposition in surface and pore with consequent reduction of pore size (Fouling phenomena). One of the most widely used polymers for the preparation of UF membranes is the polysulfone (PSf), which has excellent mechanical properties and is highly stable to acidic and basic solutions. The membranes technology is applied to oily wastewater emulsion. This emulsion is great contaminant and very difficult treatment, and UF is a treatment low cost and efficient for water recuperation. Polysulfone (PSf) membranes are irradiated by gamma ray in monomers solution bath, for obtained hydrophilic membranes, allowing new features to the membrane against a particular solute to be separated. That is why this work tries to improve the ultrafiltration process through the synthesis of PSf membranes and subsequent grafting of GMA by -ray, which can raise the hydrophilicity of the membrane.
