Resumen:
MCM-41 materials were modified with Cr, Fe,Co and Ti by the wet impregnation method. Various techniques including ICP, XRD, N2 adsorption, UV?Vis DRS and TPR were employed for the catalysts characterization. The Acid Orange 7 (AO7) degradation in aqueous solution was studied over the synthesized photocatalyst under UV?Vis and visible radiation. The Cr modified catalysts exhibited the major activity under UV and visible light. Particularly, the Cr/MCM-41 sample reached a dye degradation of around 81% in visible light, being the Cr6+ species primarily responsible for this photoactivity. Upon the loading of TiO2, the searched heterojunction effect between chromium and titania species was not observed.
