Resumen:
At the present time, dynamic studies of actual power systems are been increasingly required in order to determine the technical and financial feasibility of the application of new methodologies for enhancing the system controllability. Usually in these cases, the solution turns to special software which permits to validate as much the models of new technological components as the control algorithms proposed. However, the level of detail required for the adequate development of these models does not allow the dynamic simulation of actual power systems with many components. Based on these considerations, this article proposes a simplified mathematic model approach of a Static Synchronous Compensator (STATCOM), including Superconducting Magnetic Energy Storage systems (SMES) for using in multimachine electro-mechanical transients simulators. The fitting of the simplified model proposed is analyzed on a test system by contrasting to detailed models.
